Oysteroid and A Grid Sample – Angela Porter
2 min read

I had a peaceable and content material time this afternoon as I created this web page in my sketchbook. Nicely, the pen drawing half with some examples of how I’ll color it. And I filmed it too, and you can watch it on YouTube.
I began with the stack of Oysteroids, a tangle sample that I notably like. I made a decision that I’d like to make use of a geometrical sample as a counterpoint to the roundedly natural Oysteroid.
So, I did! I like the best way that this immediately provides a sense of layers or quantity.
Color at all times vexes me. So, I made a decision to stay with a similar color scheme, selecting Fern and Mustard Inktense pencils to create stripes on the Oysteroids. I carried this palette into the geometric sample. That was fantastic till I foolishly determined to make use of some Pink Oxide Inktense. I do not know what I used to be pondering! Nonetheless, it did give a really ‘earthy’ really feel to the sample, in distinction, maybe, to the sea-related Oysteroid.
That led me to wanting to make use of colors that remind me of the ocean on the right-hand aspect. I’ll maintain judgement on these till extra color is added. If the crimson oxide doesn’t work out, I’ve a somewhat pretty gold ink that may disguise it away! Or black with gold highlights…
I used my fantastic and additional fantastic nibbed TWISBI Eco fountain pens, that are stuffed with black Dokumentus ink.
As you may see, I couldn’t assist including some sample and texture to one of many Oysteroids. I’m certain the others shall be handled in an identical means!
