Final December eighth, Volery Gallery opened Grasp and Commander, a solo exhibition by Swedish-Dominican artist Tania Marmolejo.

Tania Marmolejo works primarily with portray, portraying her expertise of womanhood by way of figures of ladies with ambiguous facial expressions. Flat surfaces, delicate strokes, and vivid oil colors, are the primary traits of her work. With a background in graphic design and illustration in addition to tutorial coaching in Wonderful Arts. Her work is impressed by German and Flemish artwork of the Renaissance and Baroque eras, and the Figurative and Summary German Expressionism. Influences of Scandinavian artwork are additionally obvious in her selection of colors and minimalist subject material.

For Grasp and Commander fourteen work are on present, devoted to the bravery of Iranian girls of their struggle to interrupt the outdated constraints which have trapped them in a selected place and cultural time. The works subtly investigates and portrays references which were used traditionally to display girls’s advantage or the shortage of it.

These symbols embrace ripe fruits, flowing hair, naked pores and skin, and scenes of animal interactions. Ladies with tales pouring out of their eyes, delivering their feelings by way of their facial expressions, their figures are captured in fields and indoor areas taking part in and questioning these motifs, representing resistance to pre-made fantasies of femininity and womanhood, making them the masters and commanders of their future.

The exhibition will run till January 3, 2023 at Volery Gallery, DIFC, Dubai, UAE.
